Download your Wise statement
Either format works. PDF statements are what Wise produces every month; a CSV export lets you pick an exact date range.
PDF statement
- Open Wise (app or wise.com) and select the balance or account you want to export.
- Open "Statements and reports", pick a date range, choose PDF, and download.
CSV export
- In "Statements and reports", pick the same date range and choose CSV (or Excel).
- Generate the file and save it to your device.
Menu names change from time to time; if you do not see these exact labels, look for anything called statements, documents, export, or download in your Wise account.
Open Manilo in ChatGPT or Claude
In ChatGPT, open the Manilo app and sign in with Apple, Google, or email. In Claude, add Manilo as a custom connector with the server URL https://api.manilo.app/mcp; the integrations page walks through every client.
Drop the file in and say “import this statement”
Attach the Wise file to the chat and ask the assistant to import it. It reads every row, maps each one to your categories, and creates the transactions in one batch. The reply summarizes what was imported and links to your dashboard.
What you get
- Categorized transactions. Every row from the statement, mapped to your own categories, with unclear rows flagged for you to confirm.
- A live dashboard. Totals by category and month at dashboard.manilo.app, updated the moment the import finishes.
- Answers from your own data. Ask “how much did I spend on groceries last month?” and get a number computed from the transactions you imported.
- Everything in the iOS app too. The same data syncs to the free Manilo app, where you can also log expenses by voice, receipt photo, or Apple Watch.
Demo
Demo video coming soon
To be clear: the assistant reads the file you give it. Manilo does not connect to Wise.
Questions
Where does my statement data go?
The assistant reads the file you upload and creates the transactions in your Manilo account, where they sync to the web dashboard and the iOS app. Connecting is free; a 7-day free trial of Manilo Cloud starts with your first import or question, and after that it continues as a Manilo Cloud subscription. Nothing is deleted when the trial ends.
Which Wise file formats work?
PDF statements and CSV or Excel exports both work. Whatever the assistant can read, it can import: it maps each row to your categories and creates everything in one batch. If a row is unclear, it asks instead of guessing.
Does it work in Claude too?
Yes. Add Manilo as a custom connector in Claude (Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector) with the server URL https://api.manilo.app/mcp, sign in, and upload the same file. Cursor and other MCP clients work as well.
Does Manilo connect to Wise automatically?
No. There is no bank account linking and nothing pulls from Wise. You download the statement yourself and hand it to the assistant. Next month, you just send the new one.
What about other banks?
The same three steps work for any bank that lets you download a statement. Guides are available for Chase, Bank of America, American Express, Capital One, Wells Fargo, Revolut, N26.
