Connect Manilo to ChatGPT

Add Manilo to ChatGPT from the app link, or by hand in Developer mode on ChatGPT Plus, Pro or Business, and sign in with your Manilo account.

To connect Manilo to ChatGPT, open the Manilo app link in ChatGPT, click Connect and sign in to your Manilo account.

Do I need a paid plan to connect ChatGPT?

Connecting ChatGPT needs a Manilo Cloud plan: $5.99/month or $39.99/year after a 7-day free trial. Plans and pricing shows what else Cloud adds to the free app.

Add the Manilo app in ChatGPT

  1. Open the Manilo app in ChatGPT.
  2. Click Connect.
  3. Sign in with the account you use in the Manilo app, so ChatGPT works with the same expenses.

This sign-in uses OAuth: you log in on Manilo’s own page, so no key or password ever goes into ChatGPT.

What ChatGPT can do in Manilo

Once connected, ChatGPT can use more than 30 Manilo tools, each one an action it can take in your account. Together they cover:

  • answering questions from your accounts, transactions, categories, budgets, groups and tags
  • logging or editing expenses one by one or as a batch, and setting up accounts, categories, budgets and recurring rules
  • moving money between accounts, also in different currencies, at European Central Bank exchange rates
  • attaching a receipt to an expense from a public link
  • giving an account’s current balance and bringing it in line with the number on your bank statement

Add Manilo to ChatGPT in Developer mode

If the link does not open the Manilo app for you, add it by hand on ChatGPT Plus, Pro or Business. You point ChatGPT at Manilo’s MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, the part of Manilo that lets an AI assistant read, add and edit your expenses.

  1. In ChatGPT, go to Settings > Apps > Advanced settings and switch on Developer mode.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Name it Manilo, set the MCP Server URL to https://api.manilo.app/mcp and choose OAuth under Authentication.
  4. Sign in to Manilo when ChatGPT asks.

Disconnect Manilo from ChatGPT

In ChatGPT’s Settings, open Apps (Plugins on some accounts), choose Manilo and select Disconnect. Access ends right away, and nothing is deleted in Manilo: your expenses stay in the app and on the dashboard.
