What is free in Manilo
Without Cloud, Manilo works on one device and offline. On that device you get:
- unlimited transactions and accounts
- categories and tags to sort them
- budgets, with local notifications
- multi-currency accounts, each in its own currency, with totals shown in your primary currency
- CSV import and export, where the importer reads column headers in 29 locales
- receipts attached to your transactions
- the app in 14 languages
All of Manilo’s revenue comes from Cloud subscriptions, and the app carries no advertising SDK. Privacy and your data explains what Manilo stores and where.
What Manilo Cloud adds
Cloud includes the whole free plan and adds AI logging. Say an expense or take a picture of a receipt, and the AI fills in the category, account and group for you. Cloud also opens these other ways to log:
- Siri: say “Hey Siri, log expense to Manilo” on iOS 16 or later
- the Share Sheet, for sending a receipt photo from another app
- Apple Watch, where you hold the digital crown and speak the expense
- Apple Wallet, which logs Apple Pay payments by itself, with an AI rule per card if you want one
- the Manilo bot in Telegram, which takes voice notes and photos as well as text
Your transactions sync across your devices and are backed up in the cloud. You can share accounts, budgets and groups with other people, and see your spending in a browser on the web dashboard at dashboard.manilo.app.
ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and other AI assistants can read, add and edit your expenses when you ask in plain English. Connect ChatGPT and Connect Claude and other assistants walk through the setup, and Import a statement by chat shows how to load past spending from a bank file. Developers can read and write their own data through the REST API.
How the Manilo Cloud free trial works
In the app, open Settings > Cloud > Start trial. Every Cloud feature is then yours for 7 days, and nothing is charged before the trial ends. When you start from ChatGPT or Claude instead, the 7-day trial begins with your first import or question there, not when you connect. To compare the monthly and yearly plans in a browser, open the Plans page on the dashboard, dashboard.manilo.app/upgrade, which also takes payment by web checkout.
How to cancel Manilo Cloud
A subscription started in the app is billed through Apple, so you can cancel it at any time in the iPhone Settings app: tap your name, then Subscriptions > Manilo > Cancel Subscription. Cloud stays on until the end of the period you have already paid for.
